What a legend! The term “legend” gets thrown around way too much these days but this humble man is the epitome of the word in every sense. Last night, Nelson Mandela quietly passed away at the age of 95. He was a lawyer, activist and prisoner before becoming the first black president of South Africa.
As soon as word got out of his death, Twitter and other social networks were ablaze with tributes and condolences to a man who touched so many. Not only did he bring people together during his life, he managed to achieve it minutes after his death. In my humble opinion this guy was the last of a DEAD breed. There have been many revolutionaries through out time; Malcom X, Martin Luther King Jr, Tupac Shakur even but what this man did was unparalleled. Labelled a terrorist, he rebelled against the apartheid in South Africa and was sentenced to 27 years in prison for his efforts.

There is not a soul on this planet who doesn’t respect this man. He gave courage and forgiveness a new meaning and although 95 is a long life, a part of me actually thought he was immortal physically. Below is his inaugural address:
